4 Days) Sylhet: Tea Estates and Natural Forests Tour
Sylhet and Srimangal were parts of
Assam, a tea producing region of India, and are well
known for tasty tea. There are 160 major Tea Gardens
in Bangladesh, and the majority of them belong to Srimongol.
For miles and miles around, visitors can see the tea
gardens spread like green carpets over the plain land
or on sloping hills. Added attraction is the high percentage
of tribal people belonging to the colorful Monipuri,
Khasia, Garo, and Tippra tribes living in this region.
Near the Lawacherra Forest in Srimangal, the movie "Around
the World in 80 Days" was shot.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to hotel in Dhaka.

Day
2: Leave Dhaka in the early morning by car/minibus
for Srimangal (191km). The journey will take around
4 to 5 hours. Lunch will be served at a highway restaurant.
On arrival at Srimangal around mid-day, check in to
the guesthouse of Heed Bangladesh, Bangladesh Tea Research
Institute, or at the best available local hotel. After
little rest over a cup of Tea, the accompanying guide
will take the guests out to show the Tea Plantation,
Rubber Garden, and the Monipuri village. Back to the
guest house in the evening for dinner and overnight
stay.
Day
3: After breakfast, guests will visit the Lawacherra
forest, tea factory to see the processing of Tea leaves.
The Lawacherra rainforests are habitat of hanuman monkeys,
other rare species of wild animals, and birds. The guide
will show you the plucking of Tea leaves (two leaf &
a bud), mostly by the woman worker in a typical style.
Back to the guesthouse/hotel for lunch. After lunch,
drive back to Dhaka. Arrival in Dhaka in the evening.
Day
4: Breakfast, Dhaka City tour, Transfer to
Airport for departure

The guide can organize Monipuri cultural program (dance
and music) during the trip to Srimongol, if there is
a request by the guest's).
